Edit Tasks Overview
With IdeasToDone, you have many ways to organize and manage your tasks.
Using the Edit Task View, you can optionally set or change dates, priorities, and task organizers for any task. None of them are required.
In Focus View, you have access to over 100 Smart Lists that will show you all tasks based on dates, priorities, and task organizers. Examples include:
- All tasks that are overdue
- All tasks with the highest importance
- All tasks with a task type of call
- All tasks with a context of Computer
To edit a task, you should tap/click on the Edit icon on the far right of the task row.

Dates and Time
You can manage tasks based on Due Date. You can set a due date and a start time for a task, along with a duration.

You can also set multiple reminders for each task. You can set up recurring tasks with options for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly recurrences. See Step 22, Set Up A Recurring Task for more detail.
Priorities
You can also use priorities to manage your tasks. IdeasToDone provides four (4) different types of priorities – Importance, Urgency, Impact, and Effort. Again, none of these priorities are required. You might use only Importance or one of the other priority types.

Each priority type has six (6) levels of priority as follows:
Highest (Red)
Major (Orange)
Medium (Amber)
Some (Teal)
Low (Blue)
None (Black)
Task Organizers
There are seven (7) different categories of Task Organizers. These categories are optional but can be very helpful in organizing your tasks and improving your productivity.

The Task Organizer categories are Task Type, List Group, Context, Location, Task Status, and Tags. Persona is another type of Task Organizer, but may also be used to assign tasks to another person.
Task Type – this task organizer will identify the task by the type of task it is. You can create as many Task Types as you’d like.
Below are a few examples of Task Types:

List Group – This Task Organizer is for custom groups you can create. You can set up as many List Groups as you need to help you organize and manage your tasks.
Examples include:

Context – generally, these are places, things, tools, people, or conditions necessary to complete the task.
Examples include:

Location – This is the location where the task will take place.
Examples include:

Task Status – this refers to the status of a particular task.
Examples include:

Tags – You can create as many tags per task as you’d like.
Tags are entirely custom and are an excellent way to identify or group tasks.

Persona – a Persona would be someone you want to assign the task to or different roles you play in your life.
If you are assigning a task, you can also provide an email address or mobile phone number to send them the task.

You can create as many of each Task Organizer category as you’d like. You can quickly get Smart Lists of tasks for a particular Task Organizer in Focus View.
Link
You can add a URL for each task. Make sure to use the full URL such as https://www.website.com, rather than www.website.com. In this way, you will be able to click on the weblink to be taken to the website automatically.
Notes
You can add a text note for each task. The length of the note is unlimited.
