Getting Started

Step 14

Add Project Folders

Inboxes are great for simple lists and random things that come up.

However, Projects are geared toward more complex lists of related tasks. If your projects are likely to require sub-tasks or nested levels of tasks, then Projects are exactly what you need.

Project Folders are helpful for grouping and organizing your projects.

Project Folders can contain Project Lists (Projects) as well as other Project Folders. A Project Folder that belongs to another Project Folder can be called a Sub-Folder. You will see it indented under the main Project Folder.

A Project List does not have to belong to a Project Folder. It can stand on its own.

A Project Folder can contain an unlimited number of Project Folders and Project Lists.

The screenshot below provides an example of the Projects View, with Project Folders, Sub-Folders, and Project Lists.

Adding Project Folders

Adding Project Folders is a great way to start organizing your Projects.

You can add Project Folders in two different ways. This section describes the first way to add Project Folders.

You can quickly add new Project Folders by following the steps below.

1. Tap or click on the Projects View.

2. In the Projects Directory, tap or click on the QuickAdd Button.

3. A menu will appear with options to Add Project Folder and Add Project List. For now, tap or click on Add Project Folder.

4. Then as shown below, the QuickAdd input box will appear. Enter the name of your Project Folder.

5. Then tap or click the Return key.

You can continue adding Project Folders one after the other by repeating Steps 4 and 5.

Adding Project Folders Above, Below and Within A Project Folder

Another way to add a Project Folder is to add a Project Folder above, below, or within another Project Folder.

This method allows you to have more control over where you want to add the new Project Folder.

Below are the steps to add a Project Folder within another Project Folder.

1 – Identify the Folder that you want to add the new Folder either above, below, or within.

2 – Tap or click on the Folder Menu for that Folder.

3 – Select Add Project Folder.

A sub-menu will appear as shown in the screenshot below.

4- In the sub-menu, choose from Above, Below, or Within. In this example, we will select Within. Choosing Within will make the new Folder you are adding a sub-Folder.

5 – Enter the name of the new Folder.

6 – Tap or click on the next key (or the Return key if you are on a Mac).

You can continue to add additional Folders by repeating steps 5 and 6 as described above.

When you are done adding Folders, you will tap or click somewhere on the view outside the entry box.
